Hi, I’m Vaughan!

Head Coach/Director of Coasters Tennis Coaching

I have spent the majority of my life being involved in tennis. From humble beginnings starting with a wooden tennis racquet at Southbridge Tennis Club, a love of tennis started from 8 years of age.

As a junior, I competed in many regional tournaments and I was selected for Canterbury squads which allowed me to develop as a competitive player. As an adult tennis player I was a player/manager for the Canterbury Men’s Team at National Inter-Districts in 2009 and spent many years playing number 1 of Interclub teams at Premier level.

From 2011 to 2020, I spent many winters avoiding the cold by accepting contracts to play for German clubs near Stuttgart.

I have been coaching in various roles since the year 2000, including the role of Canterbury Regional Coach and then running an academy out of Edgeware Tennis Club.

I moved to the West Coast in 2015 and have been involved with several jobs and coaching to various levels of commitment as time allowed. For the upcoming 2024 season, I look forward to being involved more intensively and showing people how much fun and rewarding tennis can be.
